Angela Arabia Meyer, Esq.
Angela R.E. Arabia-Meyer, Esq., Counsel with the firm, concentrates her practice in Landlord/Tenant Law and Community Association Law. Before joining Griffin Alexander, P.C., Ms. Arabia-Meyer worked for 17 years at Legal Services, litigating Landlord/Tenant matters, as well as serving in various roles, such as Pro Bono Director, where she mentored and trained other attorneys. She has presented numerous seminars on landlord tenant law throughout the state of New Jersey.
In 2014, Ms. Arabia-Meyer secured the largest attorney fee award in that firm’s history, when she co-counseled with a partner from a large firm who specialized in land use, acting pro bono, in a major land use, affordable housing matter, with multiple plaintiffs. Ms. Arabia-Meyer was instrumental in convincing the Department of Housing and Urban Development to issue directives to a local housing authority that had nationwide applicability. In addition to Housing Law, Ms. Arabia-Meyer has practiced in these other areas: Education; Elder Law; Civil Commitments; Disability; Family; Guardianship; Immigration; Public Benefits; and Wills.
Prior to her non-profit work, Ms. Arabia-Meyer was a first-year associate at an employment and labor law firm. She was a Criminal Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Edward V. Gannon, J.S.C. and did a Judicial Externship with the Honorable Peter E. Doyne, J.S.C. Ms. Arabia-Meyer graduated from Rutgers Law School-Newark as a Juris Doctor, where she also earned a Certificate in Conflict Mediation.
Ms. Arabia-Meyer was recently appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on the District Ethics Committee in Bergen County – North.
Before law school, Ms. Arabia-Meyer worked as a teacher, having earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Montclair State University. Prior to this, she worked as a newspaper reporter, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Communications from Boston University.
Ms. Arabia-Meyer is admitted to the state bar in New Jersey and New York, bar of the District of Columbia, the United States District Courts of New Jersey, and the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Arabia-Meyer is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association; the New York Bar Association; the New Jersey Women’s Lawyer Association; the Bergen County Bar Association; and Women Lawyers in Bergen.
